If you already have one of the Rock Band games, I would suggest Rock Band 3 with the Pro Guitar 6 string peripheral. Mad Catz has the Mustang Pro available now, and Fender is coming out with a real guitar with XBox goodies built into it in March.
Yeah, reviews are pretty terrible, you are better off with Rock Band 3. Apparently it doesn't even teach you how to play real guitar, just some power chords (unlike RB3). Admittedly, Rock Band 3 will cost you a pretty penny if you get the full-blown Fender Squier guitar for it (which isn't coming out until March), but it offers a much better music selection and can also teach some piano and drums.
