Power Error - PLEASE HELP!!!

Ok I just replaced my power supply. I went from 300w to a Enermax 450W. Before I replaced it I kept getting error messages that my -5.5V was off more than 10% and this was a very bad thing. So I hoped that this new power supply would help, well instead now my 3.3V goes up to 3.5V and I get the SAME ERROR.

I am at my wits end with this computer - PLEASE am I overreacting? Is there some way to fix this?

Yeah, if you can adjust the settings in your monitor program, increase the warning level for the voltage variations. It's not a big deal to get occasional variances in the voltage. If things are swinging to an incredible amount you have a problem, but 10% is 3 tenths of a volt and shouldn't be a problem

It looked like everything else was set to 10% but the 3.3 was at 5%. Oh well thanks for your quick replies...

Do you have your box connected to a UPS (with a voltage regulator)? It may not have been your power supply at all. It may be the outlet - typical surges that you get especially if you have a lot of stuff on at once that are all plugged into that outlet. There's not much you can do with that except to get a UPS that has voltage regulation.

I have it on a Surge Protector but thats all. OK well I'll have to look into that. I'm ok with the more power though 🙂 I can put the old one in my cousins PC - better than her 100W ack!
