does anybody have the problem of powerdvd saying that there isn't a dvd in the drive even though there is. i have a pioneer slot 16x drive, with celeron 400@500, 128mb Corsair PC133 ram, Hercules Geforce 256 DDR-DVI, and a MX-300.
Which version of PowerDVD are you using? 2.55.0620 is the latest. To find out the version number do this (from www.3dsl.com):
Start PowerDVD.
Double Click on the Cyberlink name on the control panel.
Double Click on the left hand red Cyberlink logo panel.
You will now see all your driver details on the right panel.
Also which version of the Pioneer 105s firmware are you using? Version 1.22 is the latest which you should be able to get in a RPC-1 hack or RPC-2 offical version here: www.firmware.com.bi
I'm using the same drive/vid card/softdvd player and have an SQ2500 instead of a MX-300 and haven't had any problems like you've described, so not sure if updating will fix your problem or not.
I have no idea since I don't own a DVD drive yet, but could it be that the DVD is from a different region than the player is set to? Do other DVDs work?
Hrm yeah like JK said perhaps check your regions *shrug*. Can't really think of anything else to check, does it read CDs fine? Also make sure the jumper block on the back of the drive is set correctly. Some combinations of jumper settings put the drive into special modes and such. Sorry, can't think of anything else to try.
Oh I just remembered something.. try putting the drive in secondary master position. Some 105/115s are really picky where they are on the chain like mine with the 1.14 firmware would only work in secondary master (haven't tried moving it to slave since I've upgraded beyond 1.14 tho).
