Power DVD or DVD-ROM problem

I have a Pioneer DVD-106s. Best DVD player in the world until this problem occurred.

When you play the DVD, the sound is playing normally, but the picture is playing abnormally fast, looks like maybe 2x or 4x. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling PowerDVD 3.0, tried re-enabling UDMA on the DVD drive, nothing.

I haven't made any changes to my system since the last time i played a DVD, which worked fine.

Maybe its the movie you're trying to watch? Seems like that would be the most likely source of problem.

I tried everything from Sex and the City to Money Talks to the Matrix...they all do the same thing.

An interesting discovery I made is that the problem only occurs now when S/PDIF is selected for the audio output. Though I've had it on that setting for a long time....
