I'm looking for the power consumption of various pieces of hardware... specifically:

1. any old PCI sound card
2. a burner at least 10*8*24
3. a video card (any one of: gf2gts, pro, ultra, any gf3, radeon 7500, radeon 8500)
4. motherboard itself (include VRM efficiency)

I would like to konw, if possible:
1. maximum power (w)
2. maximum current drawn on each voltage rail (+5 +12, etc). for example, a certain hard drive draws lots on +12 during spinup, but more on +5 during write - so I'd want the highest of each.

Know where I can find this info? A lot of manufacturer's dont make the data easily available :(

I'll give you a bump. I also have spent time looking unsucessfully for some of this info.

I just hook up leads from the jacks to my cat when I need to measure power. The louder it screetches, the more voltage, I figure. I can at least get a general idea (i.e., that hard drive must consume more power than the cd-rw I have!).

On a serious note, here's a bump for some obscure questions... maybe try the highly technical forum?
