I am wondering how much power does an idling comp consume? My dad just got his elec bill, and it has really jumped this past month (like doubled) but we have been running like 1-3 box fans non-stop (no A/C up north here). So my question is: willa 300w PSU consume 300W while the comp is only pulling like 100? I leave my box on which has two XP 1800+'s, but they don't pull too much while idling. Any idea?
 
No, the maximum it could pull is 300W.

It will use whatever the computer is using.

Just add up the wattage for the CPUs, HDDs and fans, add 10%.. and theres a good guess.
