Hi,
I wanted to add a new 40G HD in my computer when I got this little problem. After having plugged it, I press the Power switch and nothing happens!
So, an introduction is required. I currently have:
Abit NF-S 2.0
Athlon XP M 2500+ @ 3200+
Volcano 7+ Heatsink+Fan
4 IDE HDs (200GB, 160GB, 120GB and 80GB. All Western Digital.)
ATi Radeon 9700 Pro (not O/C)
OCZ PC3200 Platinum Special Edt
Adaptec SCSI Card
SCSI Pioneer DVD-Rom
SCSI Yamaha 8416 CD-RW
Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS
2 USB peripherals (MX510 Mouse + Guillemot Gamepad)
Floppy Drive
All that powered by an Enermax 480VE-P (430W PSU). So, that's about it. I have installed an IDE Promise Controller Card to plug my 5th HD and just after having replugged everything, my computer wouldn't boot up! I thought my PSU was busted. But after having unplugged everything but the mother-board, my computer booted. Once again, I've plugged everything, nothing. That's weird. I've unplugged everything (again) and plugged one by one my HDs, trying to boot every time I've plugged one. And I've been able to put my computer back on it's knees. But I didn't dare plug my 40GB HD.
Someone know what have happened? Is my PSU big enough to had another HD without having power variations?
Thank you
