Power Consumption of various processors

Ok, for my next project, I'm going to be making the smallest computer I can. Now, because of the space constraints, I'm probably going to end up using like a 73W power supply, and heat will be a major issue. I'm basically thinking of either a Celermine or a K6-3+(figure being a mobile CPU, it's pretty low power), so how do their power consumptions compare? Or maybe I'll just use an OG Athlon ;)

And while I'm at it, do notebook CD drives just use regular notebook IDE connections?

Well, i've no info in this area at all but a Duron at 900Mhz gets about 46 Watts. :)

Anyone else know anything, or where I could find such info?

The thermal design specs are in the respective data sheets. Visit www.amd.com and developer.intel.com to learn more.

Now since Intel does not produce low-power CPUs for use in standard socket-370, you should go AMD.

AMD's Embedded Computing division offers the K6-2+ in extremely low-power flavors down to 1.4V and just a few watts in full operating mode.
