I have a GF4 Ti4400, and I'm getting a 9800 np, but I only have a 300w PSU, made by HEC (IIRC), so I was wondering how much more power the 9800 needs, because I'm worried my PSU might not be able to handle it.

Unless you're heavily overclocking your CPU. I've found (along with ThugsRook, Duvie, etc) that if you have a P4 over 3 GHz, you will want at least 430W to get the highest overclock. In my opinion, quality 350W PSU's (ie the Enermax) do quite sufficiently also.

Athlons can be a bit more forgiving since they get their CPU current from the +5V rail, which typically is given more current than the +12V one (which the P4 uses).

I`m 90% sure that a 9700pro uses 54W. So say about 60W for the 9800s.
You should be ok if your PSU is a quality one. But if i was you, i`d save up for a new PSU. 350W+.

I replaced a GF Ti4200 with an ATI 9800np and have no problem with my Enermax 300w PS.
