Power consumption and PSU's

The system so far:

Shuttle SS51G with a 200W PSU

2.8Ghz P4 Northwood
1.5G RAM
Plextor CDRW
floppy drive
WD 120G HD 7200RPM, 8MB cache

I'd like to be able to put an ATI X800XT in the AGP slot but I can't seem to find a place that would tell me the exact power draw of the ATI card. I checked their website of course but the only thing I could find was a reference that said "recommended 300W PSU"

Its my wife's computer and she would really like to upgrade the graphics but I dunno that her computer will handle the power drain. Otherwise, the computer is all the horsepower she needs and she loves the smal form factor.

Thoughts?

I am not sure if that box can handle an x800xt.
I have a rig that uses a 3-year old 330w Enermax, 2.8GHz Northwood, 1GB ram, 6800GT (approx same amout of power as x800xt?) 2 HD, 2 CD/DVD roms, floppy, and a couple of case fans.
I would go with a x800xl for lower power consumption though. It uses significantly less power than the xt but performs close enough

Go to XBitlabs.
They did a thing a while back with power consumption of various graphics cards in a review.

Dear god. Why are you building a high end system like that in an SFF PC? Its just asking for trouble.

WHy do you need 1.5gig of RAM. Knock off 512mb of that and that will cut down power consumption by ~20Watts IIRC.

Second, you really should have gotten an AMD CPU however, undervolt the Intel CPU as far as it will go without underclocking it.

FOr the X800XT there is really no need. Save your money and get an X800XT or 6800GT. THe XT is merely and overclocked version of the XL with a slightly larger die on a more mature manf process.

That Shuttle PSU can really pump out the wattage, very nice quality. I think DAPUNISHER has ran SLI or atleast a 6800U on a fully loaded system off of a 250Watt PSU. As you have it now it SHOULD be able to power all of that with the Video card.
