I am double checking my connections, as the Asus people i called didn't give me much confidence. I want to be sure I have the proper power gonig to my MB. THe OCZ Power supply has a 20 pin connector, that is attatched to a 4 pin so (20+4). It also has 2 4 pin connectors, one of which I have hooekd into the MB near the CPU. Am i to have all 24 hooekd into the 24 pin slot or should it only be the 20 part? Here's my systems specs, with a link to the PSU i have. Thank you VERY much.

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe MB
OCZ 420w PSU
AMD Athlon64 3500+
BFG 6600GT OC Vid Card
2X Muskin 512 RAM 3200
SB Audigy ZS
160gig SATA WD HD
DVD-R/RW CD-R/RW NEC

Sounds like you have it hooked up correctly. The 24-pin (or 20+4-pin) connector should go to the 24-pin header on the MB, and then you plug in the 4-pin ATX12V connector for the CPU.

/sigh
That's a relief to hear, I've been thinking I may have been pumping too much power to my MB last night, as the removable +4 part's use isn't very clearly explained in the PSU's instructions. Thanks

lol... you can't "pump too much power" into your motherboard unless you somehow shorted one of the 5V pins to +12V or something like that... it'll only pull what it needs from the PSU. :p

hm, well my MB also has a power input by the graphics card for when running in SLI, which I am not at the moment. I was going to run power there just incase it was needed but I didn't want to put it where it wasnt requested, so it's not hooked up there for now.

When I meant pumping power, I had read about if it's connected with 24 when not needed, or 20 when needs 24, it can be pulling disproportionally from the different rails. I was afraid I'd have an unstable set-up. ><

Hooking this up won't do anything. Of course, leaving it unconnected won't do anything, either.

You can't "connect with 24 when not needed" -- if the MB has a 24-pin input, it technically "needs" the 24-pin connector. Some 24-pin MBs can be run without the extra 4 pins, but that's generally not recommended, because as you probably read (but maybe misunderstood), it can put too much strain on the individual wires coming from the PSU (not the voltage rails -- all the power comes from the same rail(s) at some point).

Basically, you can never go wrong by hooking up more than you "need", unless you somehow forced a connector into the wrong place or something like that.
