power cable/wall wart....

Last night some of my desktop program icons were not working and my back up external hard drive power light was off. When I removed the power connector it was EXTREMELY hot.

I went online to find a replacement power cable/wall wart for it. OMG, a nightmare trying to find the exact same one for this model...even at the WD site.

Purchased January, 2011.

Western Digital 'MyBook 3.0 1TB external hard drive.

S/N # WCATR4763961

P/N # WDBAK0010HCH

Can anyone help me find a link to this specific cable? (there seems to be hundreds of different ones)

That it? If not, can you link to it?
If that is it, just take the old one with you to Good Will or somewhere like that, and rummage for one in their bin(s), that has the same barrel size (including inner opening), polarity polarity (most are center +), voltage, and current (current can be higher).

I don't think that's my model... mine is 'WDBAK0010HCH'.

Thanks for your effort.

The next post has a link to one on Ebay... that looks to be it.... HOPE SO...

This external backup drive is nearly full, and maybe in a few weeks I'll replace w/ a much larger capacity unit. If I do that, is there a fast/easy way to transfer all that data from the original above unit to a new one?

+1 to magnifying glasses. Actually I have gotten used to using my smartphone's camera to zoom in with the flash turned on. No need for a pic, just zoom in.

I am getting old, not old yet... getting there.
