if my power button is 3 pins, and my reset button is 3 pins, but my motherboard indicates that it only allots two pins to the power button and the reset button, does that mean it won't work?

im assuming it does - since i plugged it in anyway and triedf to turn it on with no luck.

but i just want to make sure before i go and purchase a new power button - which i can do right? (apparently compusa doesnt carry them, so does anyone know where i could buy them?)

Are you mistaking power LED connector as power switch connector? Cos Power LED connector is often 3 pins.

Power button switch shoud be 2 pins only, and same goes to reset button. Can you sen us a pic or the make/model for your case?

Do you have a switch from another comp? Or you can just use a screwdriver to short the 2 pins for the power switch to test out and make sure everything works, then deal with the other switch later.

i actually found the 2 pins connectors and plugged them in, but it still doesn't work.

i tried taking a paper clip and touching the two pins together, but my computer didnt turn on from that either.

i'm starting to think i messed up more than just here
