I've noticed that whenever I've had to turn my computer off manually, the power button on the front of my case will not power off the computer; however, it does power on the computer. I have to turn it off manually with the power supply switch. Is there any reason for this, or is it normal?

People turn computers off with the switch?

I only turn it on with the switch never off.

It should turn off when you turn it off in windows.

If I have to use the switch, then something went wrong.

Well, occasionally I will get lazy and just tap the switch, which shuts down Windows the same way as doing it with the mouse, but that's rare.

Do you hold it down for 4-5 seconds? It should drop dead that way, not a proper shutdown though.

Tap it once and it should power its self off after 30 seconds or so.

Its all set in the BIOS. Maybe one of your peripherals is keeping it on (like "wake on LAN" or something).
