Since I've upgraded to Windows 10 from 7, I've noticed that the physical power button will not put my computer to sleep after a while of being on and some sleep/wake cycles. Once it decides not to sleep with the power button, it requires a restart to temporarily resolve the issue. It wakes up just fine by using the power button.
System Specs:
ASRock Extreme4 Z87
i5-4670K
G.Skill 1866MHz (2x4 GB)
nVIDIA GTX 970
EDIT: I edited the original post since it appears this doesn't just occur on the lock screen. I tested it some more and I was also unable to shutdown while on the desktop (even though it had worked just before).
