Power blips or something on my router?

Well, for a while now my router has done a thing where the lights will flash as if it was just plugged in or reset, and for a few moments after that, no network/internet traffic will go through.

It used to be a very occasional thing, but recently it's gotten more frequent, and in the past few minutes it's done it four or five times. It's really puzzling. It's plugged into the same surge protector as this system, and nothing else has a similar problem.

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what's going on? Or anyone with the same problem?

I would like to know the answer to this one as well. Could this be an indication of the BOOTP vulnerability, or is Ikonomi's router just going belly up. ronach

I received this back from Linksys in reference to the BOOTP problem:

Thank you for contacting Linksys Customer Support.

In regards to your concern. This issue has already reached our product management and are already creating a fix for it. Please check our website every now and then for updates.

Let's hope they give this vulnerability fix some priority. ronach

Well, my router gave up the ghost shortly after I posted. 😛

Diag light stayed on, and it wouldn't handle any packets whatsoever. I couldn't even configure it or reflash the firmware. The reset button didn't work at all, either. So I guess it's dead.

I got a new BEFSR41 ver. 3. 😛 mechBgon, thanks for the link. I hadn't even heard about that.
