Power and the Intel BadAxe

Ok, this is a dumb question I know, but I want to make absolutely sure I don't screw things up.

I'm running an Intel BadAxe mobo with update drivers,BIOS, etc. Now, the BadAxe has 3 power connectors. A 24 pin, an 8 pin, and a 4 pin. Currently I've got the 24 pin and 8 pin connected and everything is running great. However, in the manual it says that if I'm going to use an Extreme Edition processor or run a processor at something other than stock settings I can't have the 8-pin cable connected or things will blow up. Is this correct? Because I'm running an E6600 right now and I thought that counted as an EE processor....

Anyway, should I disconnect the 8 pin and try squeezing a cable over to the 4 pin connector on the mobo since I want to OC some? I believe it says that it's a PCI-E alt power connection, but my 7900 GT is alrdy connected on the back with its own power cable...

Thanks,
Will

Ok, I went back and looked at everything again. Manual says not to use the 2x2 adapter when connecting the 2x4 power if you're running an EE processor or going to OC. Problem is, I don't have a normal 2x4 power cable coming from my PSU.

So, am I killing my Conroe right now by using the adapter? Do I need to get a totally new PSU?

On my badaxe it came with an adapter so i have 3 power sources so to speak plugged in sometimes my case fans spin sometimes not. At first my case fans didnt spin until i plugged in the
4 pin(molex i think is what its called same power source you plug into the cd drives)

I used the adapter for the 12vlt
and the 24 pin one
