im not exactly sure if this has been posted before [the article is a May 17th Seattle Times article] so im about 4 days late on posting...but hey, whatever.
The Article
In the second paragraph, the new Iraqi in charge of Fallujah security [Mohammed Abdul-Latif is the guys name] says a few very good things that hopefully a LOT of Iraqis will come to realize and embrace. I might also mention he is a former General of the Iraqi Army from the Saddam era.
He says:
* "We can make them (U.S. troops) use their rifles against us or we can make them build our country, it's your choice,"
* "As President Bush said, they did not come here to occupy our land but to get rid of Saddam, we can help them leave by helping them do their job, or we can make them stay 10 years and more by keeping fighting."
This guy has the right type of thinking, help the US to get them out quickly.
