A funny thing happened on the way to the war....Turkey kept flip-flopping on whether they were going to allow us to stage a division on their border. This effectively stranded a divisions worth of equipment out at sea. That division is currently making it's way to Kuwait and should enter the theater shortly after the start of the next month.
You can chalk that up to poor planning or Turkey's waffling or both. The net effect though is that we are still in control of about 2/3rds of the country after only one week of acton. We have 100,000 more troops and equipment entering the theater.
I'm really tired of hearing all these doom-sayers...it is just about all you have been hearing since Sunday despite evidence sitting right in front of everybody's face that we have so far made great gains. Will the fight from here on be tough? Absolutely and especially if the Republican Guard retreats into Baghdad. But, I don't see us rushing into that anytime soon until the rest of the troops enter the theater of operations.
