guess what... I did that before posting here dumbass.

Thanks for the tip BroeBo.

Based off your OP, fooled me.

Ive done several research items on VoIP but am revising one and just wanted to see if there was anything that I might have missed. Not all "articles" come up on google and most are just comparing solutions/providers and not the actual technology.

Maximum PC did a comparo on page 14-15 of the May 2006 issue if you have access to that. They gave POTS the win.

We're switching to hosted VOIP when we move later thing month. I'm the IT guy and even I thought they were crazy, but costwise, it's the same as our current Centrex POTS. Featurewise, it's not even close. We'll be able to go to a website and check our voicemail........you can route calls to different locations based on different criteria......you get voicemails in your inbox and can call somebody by clicking on them in Outlook.........free unlimited long distance........CRAZY sh!t like that. The problem is that our phone system is now contingent on their servers' availability. It's Covad, so I suppose if anybody is gonna be strong in that area it's them, but, oh man it makes me a little uneasy thinking about it.

until VOIP phones come down in price we will be sticking to plain ole digital lines.

$400 - http://www.iwatsu.com/Products/EnhancedPhone.html

$800 - http://www.iwatsu.com/Products/6IPKT.html

come down in price?

you can easily buy a FXS adaptor and connect regular phones to it.

http://www.voiplink.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Linksys-SPA-1001&click=7

That doesn't exactly fit the needs of a business.

I hell of a lot more came up with PSTN than POTS. I found exactly what I was looking for within a few clicks vs. 15 pages of results with POTS.

POTS is b@st@rd@tion for pl@in old telephone service.

PSTN is the term for the network/system.

Like Internet inste@d of "pl@in old IP"
