Well if you’re greeted with lesbians why wouldn’t you be happy?

Ive learned India really doesn’t like lesbians, same with Africa

Being serious the stories that all end “I cannot believe how accepting people (in America) are”

Or

“I am so grateful I was accepted here”

Not surprised they are kind. If you've ever been in a gay bar.. they are the most welcoming and kind. You'd never get into a fight in a gay bar but in a normal one its a toss up.

Many countries execute people of their sexual affiliation. I'm glad we can find room for a number of legitimate refugees in this country. It's a shame that illegal immigrants and criminal immigrants have such a negative impact on the legal ones.

To my understanding they are all legal here, assuming people who were appealing a rejection count.
Seriously man you should be here, the heart felt gratitude and appreciation is amazing.

One guy who just spoke, became fluent in English, got a US degree and returned to work as an IT security guy.
His advice was learn English first, become as fluent as possible as soon as possible.

Another woman advised people once they become comfortable with English start copying people they know who are native speakers. Accept that is will sound weird at first but keep doing it.

Or
Accept the fact that your first job will be at the bottom of the ladder, take that job and work on the next step

You mean like any half decent immigrant would do when you go to a foreign nation?

That's why it's called a melting pot. We assimilate together - segregating into racial neighborhoods where people continue to speak a foreign language is not a healthy means of assimilation.

Thus mass immigration to border states and border cities is (hands down) the worst thing for a country. It's the reason Europe is paying Turkey to keep them from crossing. Immigration over time to various areas scattered around the country? I think that is much more likely to be generally accepted as good thing rather than the plight it gets today.

Except what if they are illegal and lgbt? Oooh they're criminals.. lock them up. shoot them.. huh?

LOL a friend of mine met up with a transgirl from mexico who ran away from her family. Now they're married.

Funny thing is he swears he'll never date a white woman again after seeing the difference in cultures and their actual appreciation of someone who they value.

Maybe there is a reason that 90% of Mexican's who get green cards are women.

I mean a lot of bullshit pushed by people on these forums is a very broad generalization

The Painful, Endless Wait for LGBT Asylum Seekers
https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-painful-endless-wait-for-lgbt-asylum-seekers
LGBT asylum seekers fleeing persecution in their home countries are now enmeshed in the nightmare of the U.S. immigration system, with no assurance or clarity about their future.

Trump Policies Will Send LGBT Asylum Seekers to Their Deaths
https://www.advocate.com/commentary...es-will-send-lgbt-asylum-seekers-their-deaths
The Department of Justice is hoping to restructure the U.S. asylum system to bar anyone who enters the country illegally from applying for asylum, news that Vox broke recently. The proposed changes would likely prevent most people from Central America from winning asylum in the U.S.

Donald Trump’s administration is once again turning its back on the needs and basic human rights of LGBTQ asylum seekers.

Is there actually a check box for LGBT on the asylum form or does it all get lumped under one heading? I'm actually curious (bring on the bad jokes, I asked for it).
Also, I thought there were more letters than LGBT? I'm sure there is Q and one more that's been recently added. Though I've never known why there is a G and a Q, it seems redundant.

From what I understood that is not tracked and traditionally hasn’t been tracked particularly well so there isn’t much data about it.
I don’t try to understand the LGBT thing, it’s complicated.

Again eye opening experience, I recommend all AT members go to some immigration event.

For example, I met a photographer, I said hey I’m a realtor and I need people who can take good pictures is this something you can do? I’ll pay you.
Dudes response was he doesn’t have a work visa yet and if he works he can be immediately deported but otherwise he’d love to once he gets a work visa.
I think many of us don’t have a good understanding of how immigration works.

We'll just ignore Trump and co want to severely cut ALL immigration. Seriously you guys can't legitimately claim to be for legal immigration either at this point.
