I am at a LGBT Asylum seeker meal/charity event.
Oh my god the gratitude these immigrants have.
Well if you’re greeted with lesbians why wouldn’t you be happy?I am at a LGBT Asylum seeker meal/charity event.

Many countries execute people of their sexual affiliation. I'm glad we can find room for a number of legitimate refugees in this country. It's a shame that illegal immigrants and criminal immigrants have such a negative impact on the legal ones.
To my understanding they are all legal here, assuming people who were appealing a rejection count.
Seriously man you should be here, the heart felt gratitude and appreciation is amazing.
One guy who just spoke, became fluent in English, got a US degree and returned to work as an IT security guy.
His advice was learn English first, become as fluent as possible as soon as possible.
Another woman advised people once they become comfortable with English start copying people they know who are native speakers. Accept that is will sound weird at first but keep doing it.

You mean like any half decent immigrant would do when you go to a foreign nation?
That's why it's called a melting pot. We assimilate together - segregating into racial neighborhoods where people continue to speak a foreign language is not a healthy means of assimilation.
Thus mass immigration to border states and border cities is (hands down) the worst thing for a country. It's the reason Europe is paying Turkey to keep them from crossing. Immigration over time to various areas scattered around the country? I think that is much more likely to be generally accepted as good thing rather than the plight it gets today.
LGBT asylum seekers fleeing persecution in their home countries are now enmeshed in the nightmare of the U.S. immigration system, with no assurance or clarity about their future.
The Department of Justice is hoping to restructure the U.S. asylum system to bar anyone who enters the country illegally from applying for asylum, news that Vox broke recently. The proposed changes would likely prevent most people from Central America from winning asylum in the U.S.
Donald Trump’s administration is once again turning its back on the needs and basic human rights of LGBTQ asylum seekers.
Is there actually a check box for LGBT on the asylum form or does it all get lumped under one heading? I'm actually curious (bring on the bad jokes, I asked for it).
Also, I thought there were more letters than LGBT? I'm sure there is Q and one more that's been recently added. Though I've never known why there is a G and a Q, it seems redundant.
Are they not treated well in their home countries..?![]()
