I'm sure these questions have been asked a thousand+ times, but it's late and I don't feel like searching.

1. Do I have to manually disable SETI when I want to run an app or does it schedule itself with a very low priority
2. I have an Athlon 1600XP+ OC'd with a FSB of 166MHz(1.73 GHz). What kind of output can I expect?
3. Some of the posts here list Mobos. Do they really make that big of a difference? I have an Epox 8K3A+.

#1 If you use the client with setidriver it defaults to low priority on install
#2 at least 6 a day
#3 DDR motherboards are faster at most thing than sdram boards and the chipset can be a factor.
#4 welcome to the team! We need all the help we can get.
🙂

1. Seti has a very low priority. It will just make way for your apps.
2. Here is the same chip. This system runs one of the largest SetiQueues on The TeAm
3. Some boards are a tiny bit faster than others. Almost imperceptible but you know how we all like to brag. 😛 😀

Nfrc2 mbrds are considerably faster than VIA mbrds ,though the gap is smaller with KT600 & KT400a mbrds. Not seen any reports myself for SETI on those latter chipsets.

My 2nd rig is an XP1700 @1.88GHz on a KT133a chipset(SDR @150MHz) ,I get about 3.5hrs/av WU on that🙂

THIS site has a variation of the `Seti Timer` which gives rather accurate speeds for various processor speeds. SDR and DDR are used in comparison also, but not chipsets............

I had a similar setup and I got 7 a day sometimes 8. The 8K3A+ is a damn solid board. I loved it, till I killed it! LOL
