get a seasonic s12 500w. Since OCZ powerstream 520w failed on tomshardware stress test.

You don't need the vantec spectrum it just adds noise IMO.
I say you're set.

i'm still on the fence with the vantec card, the reason that i'm thinking about it is that some people mentioned that the 7800 in the kandalf case was running a little hot and increased airflow would help, do you have any other suggestions to help with that? i might just wait until after i build and watch temps

as for the PSU, a lot of people have recommended the powerstream both here and at the dfi forums, and i've read more positive reviews than bad

Ditch the Thermaltake case if you don't like a case that comes with 5,223,398 extra wires dangling.

Agreed.
That thermaltake case is crap anyways... It doesn't even cool well.

Get the CM Stacker, Antec P180 or something along those lines. The PSU is a very good PSU, but you could get a Seasonic S12-600 which would be much quieter. You could save some money by getting rid of the SLI board. How much are you spending on that RAM? Unless you want the absolute best performance you are better off with something like cheap crucial RAM. You could also save some money by just getting the 3000+. All Venice's OC basically the same.

i chose the ram because the good people over at dfi forums recommend ocz ram and i wanted to make sure that my ram worked really well with the dfi board. sli because i hope to eventually get another 7800gt, when they drop the price a great deal. i'll consider the psu. how is the cooling in the p180?

The Fortron AX500-A is actually a 460w PSU.
