posting open source software in hot deals forum?

I always think its kinda annoying to see some guy post some OSS app when:
1. Its been out for years
2. Everyone knows about it
3. majority of people use it already

its like having "HOT HOT HOT: free linux operating system " thread....pointless


any thought on that?

well linux is a special case because there a lots of slow mirrors out there...but I agree. Posting open src software in the hot deals forum is kind of like posting free coupons. everyone already knows about them...just not the best places to get them.
