Posting in Off Topic with the hopes of gaining useful information

Typical case:

Original poster: Can anyone help me with buying a car? I crashed my old one.

First reply: OMG PIX!!@@

Second reply: Use Google, dumbass.

Third reply: I had a car once. My wife took it when she left me.

Fourth reply: You crashed it? Let me guess...woman driver?

Fifth reply: You sexist fvck (sic)! Women are excellent drivers, having 21% fewer collisions than their male counterparts with their evil penises!

Sixth reply: Evil penis? Pix?

Seventh reply: Quote: Evil penis? Pix?

Eighth reply: 😀

Original poster: Uh, nevermind.

I get a lot of useful info here. I realize that a lot of responses in a thread will be sarcasm/off-topic/crude, etc. but if you mine them you can often get some good advice. It depends on the question too. "How do I change my oil?" is going to get better answers than "I have a crush on my step-sister - should I do her?"

no SUV bashing either??? they always want to know about which car was the SUV and wich had the woman talking on the cell phone...
