Hi,

I've just installed Mandrake 7.2 beta3 from a CDRW I burned (booted from it, too). It took me just ~15 minutes for the entire process (!) and I instantly got online (3COM 100mbps nic, Speakeasy SDSL). I have yet to learn everything, but I've gotta give it to Mandrake, their installation blows M$FT to the stone ages. ;-)

Great.
Did you dn load 7.2?
My isp is too slow for anything greater than 100Mb.
I need a program that will allow to pick up where left off during a download session when i get knocked off.

SUOrangeman, thanks. TomBilliodeaux, yes, I downloaded Mandrake 7.2 beta3 compact disk ISO image (linked from their site) and burned it onto a CDRW. It's bootable (although I could've installed from Win9X as well). What really surprised me is that even my Promise onboard ATA66 controller was supported out-of-the-box (Winblows9X would crash and burn until I managed to get the Promise drivers installed!)

I did make a mistake in not downloading the 2nd CD .ISO, because it turns out to have very useful stuff. As a result, some features are disabled and important programs are missing; I'll try fixing that by reinstalling 7.2 once I get that CD.
