Too bad they're way too expensive for personal use. Anyone else ever used one?

An agency I worked for had a bunch of them. They are very studry and they needed to be considering the users.

I installed six of them for use in warehouse environments. I respect their durability but it completely loses any form of practaclity. On the CF29s, did you order them with the touch screens? Those are pretty nice becasue the trackpad sucks - durable, but sucks. Touch screens were a lifesaver for me. They also boot and function slow - of course it doesn't matter if their main app is a 3270 emulator :)

I thought all the 29s had touchscreens.

Yeah, they're not the fastest machines. Panasonic has said they usually lag behind on purpose.

Toughbooks are awesome. We use them here to do field research in the desert. The Dells, IBMs, and such cheapies compared to the Toughbook all die from excessive heat, dust, and shock.
