Postgresql on Suse 7 ?????

I have Red Hat, Mandrake and Suse 7 installed on my machines.
Red Hat and Mandrake set up postgresql once you start it for the first
time. Suse on the other hand does not. I'm going bonkers trying to
get it to work on my Suse system. If anyone has any clues please post.
