Postal Service agrees to reverse service changes -

The suit was filed by Steve Bullock, Gov. of Montana.
Will this help us during the next 20 days?

"The postal service agreed to reverse all changes, which included reduced retail hours, removal of collection boxes and mail sorting machines, closure or consolidation of mail processing facilities, restriction of late or extra trips for timely mail delivery, and banning or restricting overtime.

The agreement also requires the Postal Service to prioritize election mail.
The settlement agreement was reached a day ahead of a hearing in the U.S. District Court in Great Falls. It applies to all states."

Methinks it will add to the confusion that already exists over mail-in voting that the Repubs have been fvcking around with in order to suppress the mail in votes that they think favors the Dems. Damage has already been done in the weeks prior to this reversal. I'm assuming the Trump admin. could've contested this decision and appealed to keep the suppression scam going until it didn't matter anymore?

I am highly suspicious of anything the Trump admin. comes up with policy-wise especially now when voting has already commenced. Everything they do has got nothing to do with creating free and fair elections because it works against their efforts to do just the opposite.

I really do hope this reversal produces positive results for every person that can take advantage of this walk back though.

Given the propensity of the Trump Administration to actively lie and deceive, this situation calls out for a special master to be appointed to oversee the postal service to make sure the court's order is being enforced.

Admittedly appointing a special master over a quasi federal agency would be a huge move for the federal courts to do (many would claim it is a power grab by the courts) that would face real hurdles on appeal but I would argue the circumstances certainly warrant it.

I wonder if it's only convenience that this came out after their GOP buddies in California reported to USPS the total amount of ballots they harvested with their illegal ballot drop-off boxes that they had peppered all over the state.

Assuming they actually comply with the agreement, it's good news.

Well, it seems unlikely they'll be able to put machines they have destroyed and trashed back into service, for one.

Hypothetically, they do not comply with the agreement. Trump cries foul on the election and forces a Constitutional crisis. This settlement doesn't matter. It will be up to our government to once again choose between enabling a step toward fascism or putting an end to it.

One of the sorting machines for Vermont just up and broke down. They contacted USPS and said we need a replacement, DeJoy's people replied "we'll take care of it in January." So much bullshit.

Luckily, 110k+ Vermonters have already voted early.

It's going to be quite a beatdown, even with republican interference and suppression.
