how big of items are you talking about...? i'm going to go out on a limb and say that they're basically all the same...
 
i can personally recommend the following company: ULine, I've ordered stuff from them before, they are cheap, have five warehouses and thousands of shipping items.

If you plan on shipping UPS or FedEx I suggest opening an account with them as it will save you money in the long run.

If you do plan on getting a scale, get one which has a high maximum capacity if you plan on shipping large items, some digital scales can be attached to a computer for use with a shipping program.
