Hmm, I missed seeing that before :Q At least this one won't affect most of us directly - here's a chart of the affected mail service.

How in the world do they expect to compete against FedEx with their Express Mail pricing? It's nearly the same as FedEx, and Express Mail isn't guaranteed to be overnight.

Gee, any guesses why they are losing money? I love the little bit about "personnel costs". Personnel cost a helluva lot when you need to hire two people for a job that should take one.

The post office is going to drive themselves into a very deep pit. :(

Why spend 33+ cents to mail a letter when you can just email it? And I would never trust a package to the US post office. Fedex or UPS all the way. :)

When I was browsing through the press releases, I noticed this one, which says USPS will be getting paid by FedEx to have their self-service drop boxes located within some of the post offices, perhaps they are making enough from FedEx to not care much about their express service anymore.
