Postal Insurance Question

I shipped my last and final package ever through the postal service priority service - too damn expensive now.

It was a Hard drive, insured for up to $50 - sold it in Fs/T - I packaged it well, but the drive appears to be DOA now. Do i have any recourse with the postal service? I've never had to file a claim. It was packaged well, and the drive worked perfectly before shipping.

Would this qualify for a claim? - The drive is worth about $30

Sure, it qualifies. When you shipped it....it worked.....when the buyer got it, it didn't.

Great, thanks. I found a pdf at usps.com that explains it further. Looks like a claim can take forever, but i'll just refund my buyer his money asap and deal with the claim later.
