when u guys say a motherboard will not post, what is the meaning of that?

Power On Self Test.

Complete hardware initialisation: identify processor, RAM Test, detect IDE devices, allocate IRQs and stuff, updates BIOS PnP information.

POST ends before the Operating System is loaded (Starting Windows....).

Not necessarily big trouble, but it does indicate that something is wrong. :)

It's not always the motherboard's fault....so I would rather say that "a system will not POST" rather than attribute the fault to the motherboard.
