when u guys say a motherboard will not post, what is the meaning of that?

Power On Self Test.

Complete hardware initialisation: identify processor, RAM Test, detect IDE devices, allocate IRQs and stuff, updates BIOS PnP information.

POST ends before the Operating System is loaded (Starting Windows....).

ahh ic, so when a motherboard is not posting, that is big trouble...

Not necessarily big trouble, but it does indicate that something is wrong.

It's not always the motherboard's fault....so I would rather say that "a system will not POST" rather than attribute the fault to the motherboard.
