Here's what you need:
1. Overkill on the storage speed. E.g. tuned RAID on both sides.
2. For Windows, Vista or later OS at least on the client side.
3. NICs working close to maximum speed -- typically on-board or PCIe.
4. Large test files. Small files can be slower.
5. Luck.
