I've done some searching on sound problems when using an sblive in win2k. However, I'm not finding anything. I'm sure that I'm not the only one experiencing sound "skips" when I listen to my MP3s. If you have any problems with your sblive running win2k or if you think you might have a solution PLEASE post it here. Thanks in advance. :)

I always use PCI slot 3 and set IRQ5 to Legacy ISA in the BIOS and have never had any probs with an ASUS A7V, ABIT KT7A-RAID and a Epox 8K7A+.

Hmm, sounds like IRQs might be my problem then. It sounds like you're running the same IRQ layout that I used to run on win98SE (I always had the sblive running IRQ5). But win2k puts everything on IRQ9. I know this is probably a dumb question but is there anyway to override this? My network card, usb devices, video card, modem and my sblive are all on IRQ9 right now. That's probably where I'm getting the majority of my sound problems. What do you think?

No it has nothing to do with that, ACPI puts everything under 1 IRQ in Win2k. What motherboard do you have?

Sorry, I suppose I should give some details on the system that I'm running. It's an Asus A7V board running a Tbird 800 @ 950. I run 256MB of crucial CAS2 SDRAM, 75GXP 30gig HD, 3com 905C network card, Lucent winmodem and that's about it. I am using the promise controller for the 75GXP.

bump ^

People keep telling me that they've read about this problem but so far I can't seem to find anyone else that has it. I know you're out there. ;)
