The hot deals thread is getting off topic so post your results here. I'm getting two. One from computers4sure and buycomp. I have the one from buycomp and will post it when I get home tonight.

Please specify what heatsink you're using. If retail heatsink, specify if you removed the thermal tape and use thermal grease/compound.

Thanks.

Got my Celeron 566 from Buy.com and running at 850MHz at 1.60 volts :D Have not tried any higher yet :p Using Abit BH6 version 1.0 with QN bios and MS-6905 Master. The only problem I found with the MS-6905 Master is it has 3 resistors that get in the way when you plug it into the motherboard, those plastic things attached to the motherboard need to be trimmed some then the CPU locks in ok. Oh btw I also have the IN-WIN A500 case, not much clearance between the power supply fan and converter, maybe 1/4 inch.

Sofar, no go at 850 Mhz. Using MS 6905 Dual 1.1 (i know not compatible with coppermines). Using retail heatsink with thermal pad removed and replaced with white grease.

Black and white horzontial strips after windows finishes loading at 1.7V. Locks up during windows load at 1.6V.

Maybe I need a coppermine slocket.

Update: Week 18 from Malaysia. Fully stable at 1.8V. Can loop through 3dmark2000 like there is no tomorrow.

No go for me yet using an MSI-6309 @ 1.65v and a GlobalWin heatsink fan. :(

Kinda disappointing...I am sure I can get this thing to O/C right. I flashed up the BIOS to the latest revision (1.5) but it still doesn't support the 8.5x multiplier, not that it should matter. Waiting for my golden orb before I give up on this one. I can always pop it into my other machine which is running a PIII 600e at 830mhz.

We shall see....

Please don't forget to mention the heatsink and thermal grease...

Also, the retail box has the following info: (from a Cel400)
PROD CODE
MM #
FPO/BATCH
VERSION
PACK DATE
COUNTRY
Which may come in handy if you feel like posting it too.

The FPO/BATCH is all that's needed I think, but the rest can't hurt...

I'll writeup mine after it arrives.

850 Mhz for three weeks stable. Vcore = 1.70. Golden Orb FC-PGA 370, Radio Shack Heatsink compound (Great stuff!). Idle temp ~ 37 C. Heavy Use temp ~ 45 C. Let me know how your temperatures compare for cooling knowledge.

Pre-peltier: 935 at 1.8 volts, MSI Master Slotket and Golden Orb.

Post-Peltier: 977 at 1.8 volts, Alpha PEP66.

My celeron is good, but I wish I had one like Viper GTS or Sumjelly.

Well, it looks like i have a dud. It will load into windows98 on a soyo 6BA-III but not on a MSI 6163pro at 1.65V. However, its very unstable in win98. I'm running it at 90x8.5 and its all stable (3dmark sat) at 1.65V.

My chip is retail, fpo L018A519, SL3W7

850Mhz at 1.65v, retail chip, FPO/BATCH # L018A553, SL3W7, Malaysia with an MSI 6905 1.1 slotket(no CUmine support) and Iwill Slotket II on Abit BH6 rev. 1.01 with Golden Orb.
Strangely the same combo does not boot at anything higher than 566Mhz with an Asus P3V4X, but a 600E at 800Mhz works fine in both boards. Any suggestions?

Ordered it on Monday and received it today. 850 at 1.65v, solid as can be.

I am using an Abit Bh6, Abit Sloket III, and Golden Orb with Radio Shack heatsink compound. CPU is a week 18.

Good luck to everyone else.

Just got my buycom c566.. so far its at 850@1.6v 934@1.9v
dont dare to push the voltage any higher?
same batch as Scaramouche. Using a bh6 v1.1 and master sloket ver.2 and the retail heatsink and fan
I dont think the sloket's voltage adjustment works with my bh6.
good thing i have voltage adjustment bios as high as 2v

I am needing suggestions on a mb to purchase.. My current processor is a 233MMX, and I cant wait to jump into some real speed.. Hell the 566 alone will be fast enough for me, but I would like to o/c to around 850 like you all have been getting.. So anyway, what is a decent `el cheapo board that would allow me to do this, or should I just get a BH6..?

Ordered mine Sunday, got it Thurs.

Week 18, running at 850, 1.6v with intel heatsink on Abit!!!, Asus P3BF, BIOS 1006 Beta. I'm gonna play with voltage and bus speeds over the weekend and see if I can get anymore from it. Also need to get a better heatsink for it (Alpha or Globalwin).

I might also give it a shot on one of my older Asus slockets and on my Abit BX6-2 if I get a chance.

It definitely hit 850 with less work than my Athlon 700 did.

bought one from computersupersale.com for $90, worked at 850 once i got a decent slotket. rock solid. Don't buy their cheapo slotket. it won't work worth a dam!!

Abit bh6 1.1 with abit slotket III 850 @ 1.75 with el-cheapo cooling, rock solid with 3dmark 2000 @ 1024x768x32 demo for 24 hours.

3dmark is much more stressful than the final reality btw.

my old tnt2 vid card without a fan was about smoking after that test.

gonna have to put a s7 fan on it now.

with the p2-400 it would never get that hot!

Tomies,

For thermal compound I recommend http://www.coolingstore.com/

I am using their arctic silver premium to oc my c2-533a to 800. The arctic silver is more expensive than most other compounds, but my system is rock solid at 1.68v and 32 deg C. I am also using a golden orb and MSI Master slocket.
