ok...so here's the idea: we all post our recipes for quick, healthy, cheap meals and then we all start cooking at home more thus becoming rich and in-shape.

so, please post
1. recipes for quick, healthy, cheap food (or better yet, an entire balanced meal)
2. reviews of posted recipes (how easy and delicious was it?)

hopefully this will become one of those big popular megathreads that actually stays on topic. we shall see.

A differnt take on sausage and peppers:

6 good sizes onions

3-4 bell peppers: the yellow, orange, and red taste so yummy

one lb chicken breast, diced


Slice onions and bell peppers and place in large skillet with about 4 tbls of olive oil and sautee until they are about mush. In another pan sautee chicken until cooked thouroughly. Combine the two ingredients and return to heat for about 15 more minutes. Add a bit of salt and some black pepper.

Nice and low in fat and pretty healthy too.

get salmon and grill it with teriyaki sauce..

healty and yummy!!

(not cheap though)

Marinate some chicken in Catalina salad dressing, then grill.

Marinate some chicken in chopped Celantro, chopped fresh garlic, and cracked black pepper, then grill

Marinate a steak in Roasted Garlic & Pepper salad dressing, then grill

Bake some fresh fish with fresh dill and sliced onions.

Chicken Breast + pesto, perhaps stuffed with bell peppers or cheese or veggies, broiled, breaded perhaps. voila

Pasta w/ Clams
1 can clams, 1 can stewed tomatoes, tsp white vinegar, garlic powder, italian seasonings, tbsp butter, tbsp olive oil
melt butter with olive oil in sacepan, pour in juice from the clams and the stewed tomatoes. bring to boil. Add garlic powder and italian seasonings to taste, as well as vinegar. toss in clams and reduce heat to low. simmer for 5-10 minutes. toss over 1/2 lb cooked angel hair pasta.
