fatburger.. i dont quite understand why anyone would be running a single ide drive if they have it connected as raid0?????

voxson, I believe what he meant is that he has an additional single IDE drive, in addition to his RAID0 drive array. That is, that single IDE drive isn't connected to his RAID0 drive array, hence is not a part of it. In this case, the benchmark will test that single drive, rather than the RAID0 drive array, according to him.
In any case, this benchmark is still grossly inaccurate and pretty useless, even compared to Sisoft Sandra.

if it is crap then start benchmark with Sandra 2002 and 3DMark and input your result here.

there was nothing else running in the background... no aim or anything. is there anything else to change to make my ram faster? i mean... i paid a pretty penny for cosair 2400, but i don't see the performance.

edc03 - Your RAM score isn't that good (relative to a lot of the other people posting here) because you're only running at default PC2100 speed - 266Mhz. You aren't overclocking your RAM at all. Your P4B266 locks the memory speed to 1:1 starting at 133FSB, which is where you're at right now.

If you drop your FSB BELOW 133, you can get faster RAM speed by going into the BIOS and setting your divider to "3:4". This will overclock your RAM to 33% higher than your FSB.

132FSB @ 3:4 would give you a RAM speed of 351Mhz (don't know if your Corsair PC2400 can run this fast though, it's rated at 300Mhz). To run your RAM at it's rated speed you'd have to set your FSB down to 113. This would give you RAM speed of 300Mhz @ 1.8Ghz. Run the PCMark2002 test again and you should see a higher RAM score and a lower CPU score at this setting. Play with your FSB to find out how high you can go (below 133FSB) and keep stable. The higher you can go, the better your memory and CPU scores will be, until 133 when your RAM will drop back down to 266Mhz, along with it's score.

Use Prime95 to check your stability at different settings. Run it for at least 8-12 hrs (or until it errors out), then try a faster or slower OC until you find a stable setting.

thanks... i'm soo new at this overclocking business, i'm still learning a lot. thanks for your reply. really appreciate it. =P

one thing though:
what is the equation to find the RAM speed from the ratio? i always throughtthe RAM speed was 1.33*fsb=ram speed. if that's that case, how did you get 351 for 1.33*133? i did a ratio for 113 for 300 and 132 for 351 and the factor was a 2.66. so do i multiply fsb*2.66 = RAM speed (in MHz)? so basically, what is:
1.33*fsb = ???
2.66*fsb = ???

For the 3:4 divider it's 1.33 x FSB, BUT we're talking DoubleDataRate RAM here so the effective speed is double the actual speed.

For instance 132FSB x 1.33 = 175.5Mhz x 2 = 351Mhz DDR.
