My main(daily use) rig is still my 2009 MacBook Pro with an intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.53 ghz with 1066 DDR3. It's been on steady for the last 5 years. Only gets powered off when I go out of town or if it needs system updates installed. I did cheat and put in a SSD last year.

Otherwise, it's my backup PC with an AMD 965 or the rig posted in my sig.

I'm running my i7 920 and my dad is using my computer prior to that with a P4. I'm planning to upgrade once Skylake is out. The computer is doing OK in terms of performance but the motherboard is starting to have issues.

Oldest current CPU is an Athlon II X2 250.

We had Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (2.9Ghz) in use up until a couple months ago. Had an old 80GB IDE HDD and ran Windows 7 just fine. Flash games peaked it at around 100% usage though and people were complaining that it felt like a space heater underneath the desk. Ended up replacing it with an Athlon II X2 250 which was a little faster and much cooler.

The motherboard for the 5600+ ended up getting fried when a screw fell behind the mobo tray and shorted something, otherwise I probably would have used it for a file server.

The 5600+ was what I got for my first computer build ever back in early 2007. It + 8800GTS 320 MB was a godsend compared to the laptops I had been using for my initial adventures into PC gaming.

Current machine originally was built with an Athlon II 250. It + Radeon 4670 was a nice interim before the upgrade to the Phenom II x4 + 5850 I currently have here. Still running OK for what I mostly play (War Thunder) and anything coming out now still technically can run on it. Too many games are still more graphics bound than CPU.

Now the workstation I use at work uses some kind of Celeron, not sure if it's a Netburst or Core 1 gen, but it can be god awful at times. Thank Xenu it's still running Windows XP!

Have one of these as well, (2009 MBP) with the 2.8Ghz and 4gb ram. Does just fine for 90% of what I need. When I need something more powerful, I jump to my other "old" processor, the 2700k @ 4.6Ghz.

the c2d's especially in laptops I think still hold up OK

In terms of ownership the oldest is an i5 3570k, in terms of manufacturing/architecture it's a i3 21xx.

I have a 3GHz P4 that I use to remote into my works VPN for remote desktop sessions. It's in an AOpen XC Cube with two 500GB HDs. I received it for free from a place I worked for 4 years ago. It sits on the opposite side of the computer room to the PC that's in my sig. It's very convenient when an issue pops up and I need to remote in to work on "real world" issues.
