Many of us have gotten the intel p4 2.4b oem processor/ ecs mobo combo from frys. Nearly all got c1 stepping. I am about to get one of these and would like to see ur oc results. I also saw those c1 stepping 2.53 are amzing also, and would like to know which one is the the better value. Thanks.

If you can afford the 2.53 then it's a no brainer. Both are highly overclockable, so why not get the one with the higher default clock speed.

Obviously, at the same fsb, the 2.53 will be faster than the 2.4. Just from my own observations, it would seem like more people have had luck with the 2.4 than the 2.53. It seems like there are fewer 2.4's that do not get into the high 170's. Whereas, the 2.53 is a little more "hit and miss."

Don't flame me. This is just what I have observed.

Personally, I own a 2.4b@3.240 (180X18) with 1.55Vcore. It is stable at 184fsb, but with 1.60Vcore.

You might want to recheck that... I've seen atleast 5 occurances (myself included) of AT OC members hitting in the 3.4 to 3.5 ghz range. I've got a slr2s 2.53 at 3.5 (184 x 19). These slr2s 2.53's are golden.

2.4b from newegg was a C1, hit 3.0@ default voltage. Having trouble with Nbridge temps on my MSI 655 MAX, ill update results when i get a better Nbridge HSF combo.

Got my 2.4B from newegg. Hit 3130 on stock voltage. i could go more, but my mobo (Gigabyte SINXP1394) Dosnt like FSB higher than ~174ish. I would like to see how much higher it would go, but I figure its fast enough for me.

Well, frys usually has sales of the ecs mobo with either the bare 2.4b or 2.53b. THe 2.4b combo is $160 now, and the 2.53b combo was $200 couple days ago. I wonder if those extra 200 - 300mhz is worth $40.
