I was able to hit 13x233=3GHz with my stock AMD cooler on my FX-60.

I am thinking that maybe with a Tuniq Tower or Zalman 9700 I will be able to hit 14x250=3.5 GHz.

What have your results been?

well its not a 185, or a FX-60.

Its a 175, but i promise you it willl spank 95% of the optys on the market. Unfortunately it was sold for more then i paid for, but a lot.

thats what i kept her at: 1.325V and she was doing 3080 @24/7: 7 hr orthos fine, and load temps unbelievable.

Thats the MAX my ram would go. I wish i had better ram for her.

Last time i heard she was pushing upper 3ghz on a dual cascade phase unit. :p

I have a E6600 now tho, and it pwns the living hell out of the opty, so no i dont miss her. But yeah i sure did miss her. :T

oh i also highly doubt you'll get 3.5ghz on AIR.

My posts above are all on h2o

3.5GHz on a Toledo Athlon 64? Not happening without some pretty elaborate cooling and an amazing chip.

3.5 GHz is very unlikely on any AMD chip. The world record was around 4 GHz, but that happened with a very exclusively binned FX-57 (single core so easier to reach higher clocks) and an equally exclusive liquid nitrogen cooling system.

I have a 3500+ Orleans right now, and the highest it's been able to POST at was just around 3.2GHz with 1.58v. I didn't feel like trying any more vCore, but anything much above that was probably very unlikely even with expensive and exotic cooling.

i guess you missed my post of 3.2 @ 1.45V
Here it is again

:T And i was RAM limited btw.

And i believe the guy who bought it was looking to break the WR on a DI Run.

Very nice core you've got (had) there..mine will POST at about 3 GHz but that's about where its limit lies as anything beyond that requires crazy increases in voltage

I still maintain tho that hitting 3.5 GHz is a near impossibility on any AMD chip that's not specially binned for clock speeds.

Even if that weren't true, it will never be done using air cooling, anyway.

true... i concure... but on that old chip, if you were to drop 1.7V on DICE, or LN.

o_O I believe he said he got upper 3's on a dual cascade. Couldnt understand his broken english.

Sold it to a member in germany for around 450. :p
