i am actually about to upgrade and i want to know what people think, but i have a pretty good idea of what i want.
basically, post the guts of whatever computer you would build right now. leave out monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, printer, floppy, and anything else that doesnt actually have any effect on performance.
as a template, start with the basics:
CPU - AMD64 3200+ venice
Mobo - either DFI lan party ultra or something with NF4
RAM - looking at 2x512mb, either corsair, crucial, kingstron, or mushkin. not sure what speed.
Video card - 6600GT w/ dual DVI (for me anyway, i need 2)
Hard drive - thinking about a raptor, but less than 100gb really sucks. either the raptor or a 200gb maxtor with NCQ.
what are your opinions? my build is focused on my budget...i just need something updated to run games and programs pretty fast but not top notch.
