860/2602 clocks

2xAA, no AF
25.22 avg of last 3 runs (I throw out the first since it's been 25% off on every card I've used)

2xAA, 16xAF
19.44

noAA, noAF
34.75

noAA, 16xAF
25.31

default 777/2252 clocks:

2xAA, no AF
22.56

2xAA, 16xAF
17.43

no AA, no AF
31.47

noAA, 16xAF
22.77

11.79%, 11.53, 10.40, and 11.16% increase in perf at the 4 settings by using the 860/2602 clocks, so let's figure around 11% real world performance increase.

I have no interest in 4xAA when 2xAA destroys perf so much. When I get my ballistix back from rma land and get my oc back up to 3.5 then I'll re-test to see if crysis REALLY takes advantage of extra ram/cpu power.

I hope that the fps improves...I really like playing this on all high now!!

unbelievable, checked out gpu temp immediately after default testing of noAA, 16xAF (left CCC on in the background). temp was only 47c!!! that is just stupid, I can barely heat my room with temps that low, much less the whole house like my x1950xt did!

H ave you tried the custom configs available at the incrysis forums? I only have an opt 165 set at 2.55 ghz, a radeon 3870 and i turned on the very high settings for dx 9. It runs like a slideshow but dear god, what a pretty slideshow 🙂 I mean, at times it'll range from 17 - 35 fps but once the shooting starts and multiple aliens show up.. it's all over.

i'll run the benchmarks when I go home.

what card you got?

guys....there is a lot of diff btw DX9 nd DX10....water effects looks amazingly gr8t in DX10 and also the rock effects....in DX9 water and rocks looks like so old....but i donno y vegetation looks good in DX9....than DX10.....wierd....

most gamers don't have vista yet so don't even care about dx10. Who cares about great dx10 effects in crysis when you're viewing them one...frame...at...a...time...?

My average fps in Crysis with a 4400+ and 8800GT OC is about 13-14fps on medium-high in Vista DX10 mode. This is with shaders on high and post processing on high (only way to actually get that sunlight ray tracing) and textures on high, everything else medium. During combat it's about 3-4 fps, lol.

1920x1200 no AA/AF. The motion blur is quite nice though, you guys in XP only get the crappy full screen motion blur instead of object-based. But like you say, the eye candy comes at the price of framerates.

ok, got my ram back from rma-land and ran benchmarks again.

3870 @ 860/2602 - btw, gpu-z shows these clocks to actually be 857/1296.

no AA, no AF
36.18

no AA, 16xAF
36.17 AF caused a big performance hit before, obviously there's a problem here.

2xAA, 16xAF
26.12

2xAA, noAF
26.14 AF, why do you hate me so!!! Grrrr...
