We just used a cheapo pumpkin tools we picked up at walmart. It took about 2-3 hours from start the finish for us both.

I tried using a dremel this year to carve my pumpkin. I must say I was pretty impressed with the results. I think I will be using the dremel from now on to carve pumpkins.

Did you get "splashed" by the pumpkin pieces being ejected by the dremel?

I ususally do several intircate ones, but my heart just wasn't in it this year....next year I'll get back in the mix
