i downloaded direct X 8 and run 3dmark 2000 and got the following results-
detonator 6.47 & DX7 4633
detonator 7.17 & DX8 4474
detonator 6.47 & DX8 4556
i discovered that the new detonator has some problems with system resources, mine kept going down for no reason till i went back to the 6.47 detonator driver, system more stable with this one. anybody else notice this?

My 3DMark 2000 scores at 1.1Ghz went down with DirectX 8 final :( When I change multiplyer to 1.2Ghz, scores level off. Odd. Anyway, here's my 3DMark score with DirectX 8 final @ Detonator 7.1:

3D Accelerator NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro
Chipset NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/Pro

I got around 4400 with the default benchmark. On the Evolva benchmark, I got 49.4 avg fps. Before DX8, the benchmark would lock up.

GeForce 2 MX SDR not overclocked

It's no coincidence that people who dislike 3DMark the most, are also the people who post the lowest scores.

Just teasing. :)

7994 on a GTS 64MB'er here bud.

I think it's a $hitty benchmark

it has no AI
it has no sound
a proprietary T&L engine
it ONLY uses the Adventure and Helicopter "fps" for the scores
the helicopter "simulation" is nothing but an overblown "Treemark"
it doesn't actually measure "average" fps the way most normal apps do. It doesn't actually measure ALL of your frames, it only takes the top and bottom couple and then divides by 4 (i.e. your top 2 highest average fps and your bottom 2 and then divide by 4)

all in all, I'd rather benchmark games, since 3dMark isn't particularly accurate at predicting true gaming performance

Rudee, yep, I've got a low score...anywhere from 2500-4500 on the same system with no changes :) That's 3DMark for you. But if I had a GF2u and had 10K+ scores, I still wouldn't think it was good.
