Recently I got my hands on 1800+ JIUB (DUT3C) core, plugged it in A7N8X Deluxe, and got it up at 1.83GHz on default voltage (1.6V), taking it higher is another story. I've read on different posts that people are getting 2250/2350MHz and as high as 2500MHz w/ B cores. My guess is I need a good PSU (got a generic 300W unit) to reach what others are getting.

Can anyone confirm/advice on my current setup? And, best OC parameters?

CPU: XP 1800+ JIUGB DUT3C
MB: ASUS A7N8X Dlx
GC: Radeon 9700
Mem: Samsung 3200 CL3
PSU: Generic 300W
HDD: Maxtor 80GB 7200 ultra
CDRW: Norcent 42X
1.44 Floppy drive

good psu's make the oc more stable. it don't think it increases the max oc of the processor.

Do you know if you have a Tbred-A or a Tbred-B?

If you are running a Tbred-A, thats as fast as you'd probally get. If its a TbredB, then chances are your PSU is holding you back.

Any idea on your HSF/Temps?

Good luck.

It's T-bred B core (JIUGB). Temp's or ok 32'c/MB, 38'c/CPU, 58'c/CPU core w/ SK6+ w/ 80mm @ 2700rpm.

BTW, w/ my 1700+ A-core XP, I was only able to do ~1740MHz OC stable w/ CPU temp between 46-52'c. But after reading what results people are getting w/ 1700+ B-cores, I looked for B-core but couldn't find 1700+ so I got 1800+ instead. So....

Can I expect similar OC results w/ 1800+ B-core as people are getting w/ 1700+ B-cores?

I did more testing last night and made some interesting observations:

Unlike my AXDA1700+ AIOGA, w/ this 1800+ JIUB I was able to hit 1830MHz on default vcore (1.6V) @ 36 - 39'c. ( I was happy w/ that).

Now, I thought (as I've done before w/ the 1700+) that by upping the vcore by 0.025V intervals, I should be able to get higher OC values... Not the case! I've taken it all the way up to 1.85V (1.89V ASUS overvolt) but did not go anywhere (expect hotter cpu temps)!

Anyone w/ similar experience? or, can comment of what is bad w/ my setup?

Thanks again.

I just got one I plan on returning-

JIUHB 0250 DUT3C, the code indicates it is an underclocked 2800+ (Which isn't that good). I hit 2 ghz stable at 1.7v. When I swapped in my friends corsair xms i was able to hit the 200 fsb. :)

Yes I'm pretty sure. I've even snapped a pic of it to be sure! System specs is in my sig.

Why would you wanna return it? It sounds like a good OC chip to me

I got a AXDA1800 DLT3C JIUHB 0307 VPMW running stable
@ 2.1Ghz (167x12.5) with 1.725Vcore on an Abit NF7-S v1.2 Bios 17 m/b
and generic Kingston DDR333 RAM (7-3-3-2.5). My RAM's the limiting factor.
Cooling/PSU: Thermaltake V7+, HEC 425w PSU, HEC ATX case, 2x80mm sys fans
Conditions: ambient room 29C (non-air cond, tropical climate -> HOT!), sys temp 39C,
CPU load 64C with Prime95 test, idle 53C as reported by HW Monitor in WinXP Pro.
CPU load temps drop to 60C when I reduce the VCore to 1.70V in the BIOS. Seems to be ok running Prime95 with this config.
The Abit m/b undervolts a bit.
Any way I can reduce my CPU temps on air? w/o investing in water cooling etc?
Are these temps safe? Been reading about fried CPUs... Don't plan to shell out more $$ than already done so.

I think that says it all. If I remember correctly, U = default voltage of 1.6V and L = 1.5V. This might be the reason why you arent hitting as high as other people.

Yeah, I I know ELCS. I already knew what core I was getting when I bought it. I can return it anytime, since I live right next to a frys. They did have a very good stepping of the 2100+, though. It was a week 0301 (that was a good stepping right?).

0301 seems to be a hit or missing week...

i had one that only could do like 2.2 at most

others got like 2.4 to 2.5 out of it...

so where is everyone getting their 1800+ DLT3C's from?

Doh!

Do Not Return the cpu! The GB stepping for XP 1800 is one of the best for OC. Many GB steppings can do 2.2~2.4ghz.
I have a CB stepping that does 2.1ghz @1.65v w/ a $5 heatsink/fan.

Anyone out there with the same CPU as mine?
AXDA1800 DLT3C JIUHB 0307 VPMW
How high can it go on air? VCore & Temps pls.. Thnx.

btw do you think its safe running a thoroughbred processor with a crappy aluminum HSF?

well its not that crappy it cools pretty well, but is it safe to use a non-copper based HSF on a thoroughbred?

My 1800JIUHB DLT3C 0307 runs @ 2.10Ghz on Thermaltake V7+ VCore 1.725 (Bios) with 62C load (Prime95) (ambient temp is 28-30C) casing temp 40C. But I don't like the 60'ish temps. Is this acceptable? idle it runs OK @ 53C.
