Celsius actually makes sense:

Below 0C - H2O is Solid (Ice)
0-100C - H2O is Liquid (Water)
Above 100C - H2O is Vapor/Steam/Gas

Not sure what the deal with Fahrenheit is...

That's only true at 1 bar (atmospheric pressure). :awe:

that is so wrong that equation...

((c x 9) / 5 )+ 32 = f...

besides the 2 countries who use fahrenheit still... who cares.,

A bit of a 'quickie' for those who hate dealing with odd numbers:

(((C x 10) - C) x 2) - round last digit and then strip the last zero + 32 = F

I got bored one day while on a long trip on my motorcycle and came up with that one...lol

Metric is more logical, everything is based on 10's. With temperature 0 is freezing 100 is boiling, it's just a logical way of measuring stuff.

So I will post celcius temps. 😛

Hvac controller sensors:
Living Room 17°C (-)
Hallway 20.125°C (=)
Server Room 18.1875°C (-)
HVAC Return 15.9375°C (=)
HVAC Supply 16.75°C (=)
Outside -11.5°C (-)

Weather network:
-18°C, Feels like -2

Yeah my outside sensor is a tad off... it's embedded inside a brick on the outside of the house. I need to extend it further outside.

The easiest way to convert is to use google. "17C in F" in search will give you the conversion.

Pish, that ain't the definition of Celsius anymore. The French had a great idea, keep shit simple. Then the scientists had to screw things up.

The concept of communism is actually pretty good, the problem is the leaders. Just like with democracy. That said I would not trade democracy for communism in the current state. At least with democracy you can vote out an asshole to replace with another asshole. Shift the shit to different piles to keep it from hardening up, know what I mean?

It fails every time due to bad leaders. Sounds like a critical fault to me. While capitalism / democracy can tolerate bad leaders since they can't have absolute power.

It makes sense - if you don't like the globally (and frankly, universally) accepted concept of when H2O freezes because you are a raging moron, you ban people, like the raging moron that you are.

Use the metric system. Use celsius. Call it football. And, welcome to the rest of civilized humanity.

It's like the Metric vs. English. In theory, metric is more elegant with its base 10 conversions. In practice, English units just work better in every day situations. How many centimeters is a 10 penny (3 inch) nail in cm? How long is an 8 foot stud in meters? See, English just works better for human scale stuff.

Why is it so important to have water freeze at 0? Others have already pointed out that it varies with atmospheric pressure anyway, so it's not even like you can say "so you know if it's going to be ice or rain out there!"

Others have already pointed out that Celsius measuurements are far too course, so you'd need to add a decimal to thermostats and shit. Fuck that.

Association football? 😀
