This is my list. There are others but these are the ones I haven't found fixes or workarounds for.

Internet Explorer:
That pop up you get when you go to a site that tries to use ActiveX and you have it disabled.
Will not open up a link in a new window maximized.

Outlook Express:
Can't force incoming e-mails to show as plain text.

Windows 98:
After moving or deleting many files and/folders at the same time Explorer will invariably hang.

WindowsXP
BLOAT.

Winamp 3:
Everything about it except the new playlist.

AIM:
Tries to stay in the system tray after you close it.

Nvidia's drivers:
Piss poor aniso performance.

GTA3:
Runs like crap.

Really?
Are you sure?
You won't be able to change your mind. Are you sure?
Really?
Ok, this is your last chance to not post. Are you sure?

I'm not kidding this time, are you REALLY SURE?
Ok, but I don't think that you should. Are you sure?

I agree with these.

You should also be able to block pop-ups in IE. Configuable to either block all pop-ups, or pop-ups that come from a different domain than the one that you are at.

Oh. And I hate web-designers who use javascript to create pop-ups on links, instead of using the TARGET tag (since holding shift when clicking on the link wont work).

And I hate how everything I install wants to run in my task bar. And how they all create a Program Group in my start menu that just contain one other group -- or are named after the company and not the program. Do I need to go to GlobeScape->CuteFtp->CuteFtp? or Ahead Nero? why not just Nero? I think that the "Nero" brand is worth way more than "Ahead".

How about my favorite dialog box after an install:
"You must reboot your computer to use the installed program."
and the only button is OK, which imideately reboots your machine.

Gonad--I've been able to resolve this problem, in the past, in W9x by overwriting my explorer.exe file with a known good explorer.exe file, even though both files showed to be the same size. IME, BSOD's and such, while I'm xferring files, seem to have corrupted the file.
YMMV.

The thing that annoys me most is in setup or install where the program insists on being put in C:\Program Files\. I detest that. I had WinDVD's patch to make it work in XP, and it would not install because I didn't have the program where IT thought it ought to be, and it refused to let me tell it where to look. I sheisse-canned the program and got PowerDVD and it has been perfect. :)

I also detest Microsoft's cutesie "My Documents," and "My Computer," etc - how childish! Who the heck else's would it be?

I also do not like the way Outlook Express stores embedded or attached graphics. Eudora Pro does that so much better - very intuitive - two folders - one called \ATTACHED and the other \EMBEDDED. So, I send mail with OE and recieve mail in EP. The best of both worlds.

I could go on - but it's time for dinner! :)

1. When you WANT to install a soft and It asks "do you agree with....", like you are going to say NO and abort.

2. Same as above, like C: is the only drive one has.

3. Advertisements in software.
