I am a Olympus 4/3 user, mostly e3(8yrs old) because of the weather seal. Amateur lvl skill set, shoot RAW and process with DXO. I recently upg to DXO 11(nice improvement btw). I am happy with e3 in general, when I need more HDR I bucket it and merge it with photomatrix.
My e3 need to service so I dust off my oldie e1(5mp) to go with me for a day hike, since DXO don't support e1 I d/l a trial for paintshop pro x9 to play with the e1's OOCJ. Don't have much hope as I tried x8 before and disappointed. But holy cow x9 is miles better and but using just the smart fix(1 click) and random art filter(1 click) OOCJ now looks much much nicer. Throw some e3 jpeg(after DXO) into it and the result are impressive.
And this got me thinking, I gain much nicer result with min efford but I lost the character of the brand. I used to able to tell if it is a oly or Nikon or canon by the color, now I can't because of the PP adj. I don't even know if this is a good or bad.
BTW try x9, I think it well worth the $100.
