"thedarkwolf what's the story on that Galaxie? Is it all original? Low miles? Been in the family for years?

Here's another enthusiast My 67 Galaxie Web Page "

It wasn't a in our faminly or anything special like that I had just always wanted a classic car and my dad spotted that one on one of his many trip into virginia and compared to most of the other cars I had been looking at that one was in a lot better shape, still cheap, and I liked the look( that big ol 390 helped a bit :p ). I was actually looking for a dodge dart but every one of those I looked at seemed to have some pretty major rust problems. Anyway I have had the car now for a little over 5 years and the only real major thing I did sofar is rebuild the engine.

It wasn't anything special, plus the block had several cracks in it, so I didn't really bother to keep it original. I have kept all the origanal parts that I took off except the block though. Beside the stock 270hp just isn't enough :p so I had to make some mods. As for mileage it shows around 44k :) but I would guess it has 244k on it maybe 144k.

Now that I have a job that pays decent hopefully I will be able to do some more work to it. My next big project will be a frontend rebuild and disc brake conversion. Then hopefully if I can get enough money together I ll have somebody do the body work and paint next summer. Then there is the trans. It has an FMX trans and it shift ok but it takes a long time to engage reverse always has but it getting worse every year so I would like to swap a rebuilt c6 in there soon.

I have several more pics
here if you want to look. Please ignore the ugly sparkplug wires and coil, it was an emergency and I haven't got around to fixing it yet :). Also its normally a bit cleaner than that but I didn't have time to clean it before I snapped the pics.

Just go sign up for some free space at some place like The Globe. They have a pretty easy to deal with upload manager and I think you can even just ftp to it if you want.

Some nice cars here for sure...Atom I'm jealous, I want to pick one of those things up. Considering the price on a used 1990+ 300ZX (gotta be a '90 or newer) and that they are fast - even the N/A aren't bad - I believe 300zx's are a sweet sweet car!

Hah! He lives in Spain ratkil. He probably drives a Fiat if he even owns a car :p

Thanks for the pics TDW. I was hoping it was an old family heirloom type car. I missed the boat on grabbing my grandfather's 1968 Buick Electra. That was all original and really worth doing up. I blew it... :(

Denis, is that really your car? Cool if it is! ;)

You think thats bad when I was growing up 4-8 or so my dad had a 66 Mustang fastback 289Hi-Po 4speed that he told me was mine when I was old enough to drive. It was baby blue with black interior and well it was awsome :) but the bastard sold it around 1984. That thing would probably be worth around $20k restored today. Whats really bad is my mom had a baby blue 66 mustang coupe( matching cars how cute :) ) 289 auto that I was also told would be mine after they had sold the other one but the bastard sold that one too around 1988 ahhhhh. I should have called one of those child abuse hot lines or something :). I ended up with a 81 dodge mirada for a first car instead of a 66 mustang but in the end I guess it was a good thing cause I wrecked the mirada a year later. I would have had to kill myself if I had wrecked the fastback.

hey vi_edit, is yours 3.1 or 3.8 ?
My 3.8 engine kicks some butt on the road :)

andrey, it's the 3.4 DOHC. The 3.4 is superior to the 3.8. GM dropped it because it cost too much to produce. Your engine will have a little more off of the line, but the 3.4 will take the 3.8 in the long run. It's a much better engine for high RPM's compared to the 3.8.

The 3.4 does quite well cruising along I-90 at 90+ MPH :)
